The Daydreamer

The Daydreamer by Ian McEwan's

Re-experience childhood once again through the adventures of ten-year-old Peter Fortune in Ian McEwan’s THE DAYDREAMER. Each of the seven delightful tales narrated by Peter in this book rekindles to all readers the joy of exploring the power of children’s imaginations and creating our own fantasies as well. THE DAYDREAMER invites all readers to Peter’s wonderful world of vanishing people using vanishing cream; battling evil dolls, bullies, and burglars; and transforming into cats, babies, and even grown-ups. This charming novel can be read by children and most certainly by those “grown-ups” who have forgotten what it is like to be a kid—to experience and explore emotions, fantasies, reality, and the world for the first time in their lives. Peter’s journeys remind readers of the joy and excitement of becoming daydreamers once more.

Happy reading!

Homemade Fried Chicken

Ingredients:

1  whole Chicken cut into pieces (washed and drained)
Salt, Cumin and Coriander Powder, Red Chili Powder and ground Turmeric
Garlic and Ginger Paste
Milk
All Purpose Flour
Bread Crumbs
Vegetable Oil

Preparations:
Marinate the chicken with 2 tbsp of garlic and ginger paste, salt, 2 tbsp of milk, 1 tbsp of cumin and coriander powder, 1/2 tbsp of turmeric and 1 tbsp of red chili powder. Mix and refrigerate for at least an hour or overnight.
In a mixing bowl, take 2 cups of All purpose flour and 1/4 cup of bread crumbs. Mix the two ingredients together. Remove the chicken from the refrigerator and coat each piece of chicken with the flour mixture. Make sure the entire surface is coated well with the flour so it can get nice and crunchy.
Heat some vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium low heat. Heat enough oil so the chicken pieces will drown in the oil. Once the oil is hot, add your chicken to the oil. Cook the chicken in batches for atleast 10 minutes on each side (each batch should take 15-20 minutes to cook through and brown on the outside). Remove the chicken onto a plate lined with some paper towels to remove excess oil.
Try this delicious and easy to make fried chicken any day of the week with cole slaw or  potato salad on the side. Kids, adults and teens will all love it. Enjoy!!!!
